Cookies and site storage
Everything this site stores on your device, what it is for, and how long it stays.
The short version
We keep your cart and your sign-in working, we count how far people get through the shop, and — only if you agree — we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand where the site is confusing. If you say no, nothing in that last group loads at all.
What is always on
These are what the shop needs to work. They are not tracking, they are not shared, and there is no way to turn them off and still have a working cart — which is why we do not offer a toggle that pretends otherwise.

How we count visits
We count how many people reach each step — a page opened, something added to the cart, an order placed — on our own servers, on this domain. What we record is the step, the page path, and where it applies the item code and the order total. Never your name, your email, your phone number or your address. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we count nothing at all. These counts are deleted automatically after 90 days.
This one does not ask permission, and the reason is worth stating plainly: it sets no cookie, it cannot recognise you on a second visit, it cannot follow you to another site, and nothing leaves our servers. That is the narrow kind of measurement regulators exempt from consent. The moment it stopped being true of this, it would need a banner like anything else.
What only runs if you agree
Nothing below stores anything on your device, or records anything about you, until you have said yes.
Google’s tag manager does load on every page, and we would rather say so than let you find out. It is the piece that would later run the measurement, and on its own it writes nothing to your device and reads nothing from it — it sits switched off, and Google is told so on the way in. No cookie is set and no visit is attributed to you unless you agree. We load it this way because a tag manager that is not present cannot be inspected or fixed, and one we cannot inspect is one we cannot promise anything about.
The session recording is different, and it waits. There is no switched-off version of something whose job is watching, so if you say no, or never answer, your browser does not contact Microsoft at all.

About the session replays
Microsoft Clarity records how a page was used — scrolling, clicking, where a cursor moved. Text you type is masked before it leaves your browser, and every field that could hold a name, address, phone number or email is marked so it is never captured. We do not see what you typed. We see that a field was filled and how long it took.
Where this data goes
To Google and Microsoft, on servers outside India, under their own terms as processors for us. We do not run advertising tags, and advertising storage is switched off at our end with no option to turn it on — if that ever changes, this page changes with it and we ask you again.
Changing your mind
Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. It is the same one click that agreeing took. Saying no afterwards also deletes the cookies that were set and reloads the page without them — withdrawing stops the processing, it does not merely stop the next page's.
Children
This shop is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 or use behavioural tracking on them.
Asking us about any of this
Write to care@amrutham.food. You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India if we handle that badly.
